Adult Sailing Lessons

Adult sailing lessons are held at the Beacon Marina in Caesarea on Lake Scugog. Come join our skilled instructors and experience our beautiful facility and comfortable 16' daycruiser sailboats, great for all age groups.

Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with stunning sunsets and a panoramic view as we enjoy as much time on the water as we can squeeze in.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your sailing class. It was such a wonderful experience! I didn't know sailing could be so peaceful and also so exciting.

Learn the basics or heighten your skills. We cover basic boating safety and handling, basic navigational skills, and sailing theory. Demonstration of tacking, gybing, running, heaving to and all other standard sailing maneuvers are taught step by step. And you'll work toward the skill sets required to obtain Canadian Yachting Association White Sails Levels 1,2 and 3.

Lifejackets are provided, but the participant may bring their own if desired. Other classroom activities include knot tying, anchor types and anchoring techniques. We'll also cover vessel types and designations and an introduction to some of the latest boat types and designs that are bringing sailing to a whole new level throughout the world today. In case of a stretch of unusual bad weather makeup lessons will be provided.

Cost: $180.00 plus HST

Special Introductory Sail

$80.00 + tax two persons maximum. Allow 2 hours. By appointment only.

Private and scheduled group lessons are also available.
